Hi & Thank you for visiting my website! I am a midwife currently living and practicing in NYC, though I will soon be moving to beautiful British Columbia to join the ranks of Canadian midwives. In my life before midwifery, I was a singer in theater and opera from the age of 16. I am a classically trained singer and received a BMus in Voice Performance from McGill University. After graduating from McGill, I moved to New York to pursue my singing career. Unfortunately, several years later, tragedy struck, and I lost my mother very unexpectedly and very quickly to Ovarian Cancer which caused much self-evaluation and led to my decision to pursue my other passion: safe motherhood. I have since earned a BS & MS in Nursing & Midwifery from Columbia University and have been practicing in the NYC area ever since. Through all of this, I have never lost my deep love for all things performing, most notably singing. Hence, "The Singing Midwife." I continue to sing and act and try to use those talents to bring awareness to causes that are close to my heart. I do hope you enjoy my site and my blog and will continue to visit for updates.
